I love trying new restaurants and I have heard so many good things about a restaurant called Hancock! I have been trying to try it out for awhile, but finally had the chance last week when I met up with family! wow is the word. I am already craving the chicken sandwich I had. There is inside and outside seating – located on Wealthy in East Grand Rapids. They remodeled an older building and made the inside and outside so cute! They serve Nashville hot chicken and even though you order separately, everything comes out family style and then you add it to plates.
Everyone that told me to check this place out recommended the Hot Chicken Sandwich! So I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich (comes in regular, hot, or sweet) and the waffle fries. The fries were served with their Hancock “fancy sauce” which was delicious!
The drink I ordered was John Daly slush – vodka, lemonade, iced tea, and orange bitters. They are known for their frozen drinks and it did not dissapoint!
Lyall ordered the Fried Chicken which also comes in regular, hot, hotter, or hottest! I am all about the heat, but Lyall is not so he doesn’t go for the hotter versions. Lyall is a self proclaimed food critic and he had no complaints so that is saying something!
The mac and cheese looked amazing as well!
The outside has picnic tables, corn hole, and a pickup window for anyone getting the fried chicken to go!
I have also heard you have to try the jalapeno cheddar cornbread so that is next on my list!
They are open Sunday- Thursday from 11:00am-8:00pm and Friday-Saturday 11:00am-10:00pm
Parking is on the street, but not incredibly hard to find!
I will be consistently craving this sandwich while I’m in Texas so if you are in GR make sure to enjoy it for me!
